Melanie graduated with a first class BA honours degree in Business & Management at Leeds Metropolitan University.
After working in the Financial Services Industry for over 25 years, mainly for large organisations, Melanie is a Partner for Legal Services in Spain and heads up the residency team specialising in Spanish residency, visas, and immigration services.
She has a wealth of experience and is a regular guest speaker at A Place in the Sun to talk about Spanish residency.

Laura Tarvidaite is originally from Lithuania and after completing her high school studies and studying Business Services she moved to the UK in her late twenties where she continued to study and work at the same time. Having an accountancy background and an eye for detail, she established herself in a residency department in the UK, helping clients to move to and obtain residency permits to live in the UK.
After falling in love with Barcelona, Laura decided to move to Spain in 2019 and settled in Marbella. Now she continues doing the job she loves but this time assisting clients with their move to Spain.
Laura helps our clients with their European Residency, Non Lucrative Visas, registering on the padron (local census) and assisting with all residency and visa related matters.
Outside of work she enjoys cuddling her fluffy cat, going to the gym and playing sudoku.
Hailing from the vibrant land of Argentina, Chiara made Spain her new home in May of this year. Her story is one of cultural exploration and academic pursuit, as she embarked on her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires. Now, she’s on the verge of completing this academic chapter at the University of Malaga, seamlessly merging her Argentine roots with the rich tapestry of Spanish culture.

Alex is a dual qualified English Solicitor & Spanish Abogado. He is experienced in providing legal advice to foreigners in Spain having an understanding of both the British and Spanish cultures he is a responsible and a safe pair of legal hands. Alex is proactive, amiable and accustomed to working under pressure, his excellent communication skills help clients understand what is required and how they should best approach a situation.
Alex’s specialities include: Powers of attorney, international contracts, general commercial & corporate work, commercial and residential real estate, estate planning, wills & inheritances, personal injury, regulatory, employment & litigation. He is a recognised expert in Leisure & Shared Ownership industry including fractionals, timeshares, hotels and holiday complexes. Alex has supported the “Place in the Sun” Television Programme and exhibitions as one of their resident experts providing advice at numerous conferences.
Patricia Ruiz qualified as a Spanish lawyer in 2009 and then continued her studies by completing a Masters in Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Málaga. Throughout her career she has studied additional law subjects and courses about Real Estate, inheritances and Taxes.
In her professional career Patricia worked for a legal and administrative agency, where she specialised in bank processing and coordinating work with Notaries and Land Registry services around Spain. Her experience have allowed her to provide comprehensive services to foreign clients.
Patricia Rivas qualified as a Spanish Lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws with Special Mention in Business Law LLB from the University of Granada in 2016. This was followed by a Master of Laws LLM from the University of Granada in 2018 with a thesis on Criminal Law on Spain: “Stalking and Sexting crimes´´.
Patricia holds a professional membership of the College of Lawyers in Malaga. She is originally from Malaga.
Patricia has recently returned to Spain after working in the City of London for a major consultant in renewable energy. Prior to this Patrica gained valuable intern experience in a Granada law firm, the Civil Service and Amnesty International. She is based in our Marbella office in our busy property department as well as doing specialist work in wills and probate.

Francisco José Conde Navarro is from Seville where he studied business administration and finance and he is also an Administrator of Fincas (Property) acting for numerous communities of owners in the Malaga and Seville provinces.
He has spent more than 20 years advising companies and individuals in relation to their dealings with public authorities across Spain. Since 2014 he has been acting for clients across all of Spain in obtaining NIES and residencies. Fran is highly experienced in dealing with the Spanish tax office and dealing with local, regional and public administrations. Fran shares his time between Seville & Malaga.
